Dynamo Kyiv is one of the biggest clubs in Eastern Europe. At first, the club had joined Soviet Football League then since 1991 competed in the Ukraine League. Currently, Dynamo Kyiv also holds the title as the most successful Ukrainian club of all time, winning a total of 26 league titles (13 were achieved while competing in the Soviet League) and two Winners' Cup trophies.
Not only that, Dynamo Kyiv is famous as a place where some of Ukraine greatest players were raised. The club has given birth and polished a lot of quality footballers such as Andriy Shevchenko, Serhiy Rebrov, Oleg Blokhin, Serhiy Rebrov, and many more. Some of those players even achieved status as legendary footballers in Ukraine.
15. Artem Milevskiy
Artem Milevskiy is an Ukrainian striker who played for Dynamo Kyiv in the period 2002-2013. With his large and strong body, he is very effective in scoring goals through header. However, the main position Milevskiy is not a target man, but a second striker. In addition to prolific in netting goals, Milevskiy also provided a lot of assists for his team-mates. During joining Kyiv, he won four league titles and twice elected as Ukrainian Footballer of the Year.
14. Leonid Buryak
Playing as a midfielder, Leonid Buryak role in Soviet national team is often compared with the role of Zidane in France national team or Nedved in Czech Republic. Buryak was a tremendous playmaker, possessing great techniques and remarkable stamina. He helped his country win the bronze medal in the 1976 Olympics and led Dynamo Kyiv claim numerous domestic titles. He played for the club for 11 years, scoring 56 goals in 304 appearances.
13. Oleh Husyev
Born in 1983, Oleh Husyev once was considered one of Ukraine's potential stars along with Ruslan Rotan and Artem Milevskiy. The player started his career at Dynamo Kyiv in 2003, and until now his position as the number one right-back is almost irreplaceable. So far, Husyev has already won four Ukraine Cups and three Ukraine League titles. His brilliant performances in the 2006 World Cup made Husyev wanted by many big European clubs, such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Olympique Lyonnais.
12. Maksim Shatskikh
Shatskikh was the mainstay of Dynamo Kiev post-departure of Andriy Shevchenko to AC Milan. Being signed from Baltika Kaliningrad in 1999, Shatskikh immediately showed brilliant performance in his first season, helping Kyiv win the Ukrainian League and became the top scorer of the competition. In 1999 Shatskikh made a record as the first Asian player to score in the Champions League tournament.
11. Yevhen Rudakov
Yevhen Rudakov was a mainstay goalkeeper of Dynamo Kyiv when the club was still competing in the Soviet League. Playing from 1962 to 1977, Rudakov presented six Soviet League titles, a Winners' Cup and a European Super Cup for Dynamo Kyiv. He was also elected three times as the best goalkeeper of the Soviet Union. Over 12 years of joining Kyiv, Rudakov played in 297 matches and only conceded 205 goals.
10. Volodymyr Muntyan
Volodymyr Muntyan is one of the most loyal in the history of Dynamo Kyiv. He spent his entire career as a professional footballer playing for only the club. Together with Oleg Blokhin, Muntyan is the only player who won more than seven Soviet League titles. He was also named the Ukrainian Footballer of the Year in 1970 and nominated for the Ballon d'Or in 1969. Throughout his career, Muntyan scored 57 goals in 302 appearances for Dynamo Kyiv.
9. Oleksandr Zavarov
Not only spending his career in the domestic competition, Zavarov also briefly joined Juventus and Nancy. He played for Kyiv in the period 1983-1988, winning two Soviet league titles and one Cup Winners'. He was also selected as the best Soviet football player in 1986 and became the top scorer of Winners' Cup in the same year. Zavarov moved to Juventus in 1988 and at the club he won a Coppa Italia and a UEFA Cup trophy.
8. Anatoliy Demyanenko
Demyanenko is a former left-back who joined Dynamo Kyiv from 1979 to 1991. Not only strong in defense, Demyanenko was also very active in helping the attack from the left side of the field. In 2000, Demyanenko was named the third best player in the history of Ukraine, just behind Andriy Shevchenko and Oleg Blokhin. After his retirement, he coached Dynamo Kyiv for two years, from 2005 to 2007.
7. Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko
In addition to Andriy Shevchenko, Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko is an Ukrainian player who had the most successful career abroad. After winning four league titles with Dynamo Kyiv from 1981 to 1990, he moved abroad to play for Sampdoria (1990-1991) and Glasgow Rangers (1991-1996). In these clubs, Oleksiy Mykhaylychenko won a Serie A title and five Scottish League. During his time at Dynamo Kyiv, the attacking midfielder received two Ukrainian Footballer of the Year awards.
6. Vladyslav Vashchuk
Tough, strong, and consistent. Over 13 years of playing for Dynamo Kyiv, Vladyslav Vashchuk's position as the number one center back was almost irreplaceable. At the club, the player obtained nine league titles and six Ukraine Cups. In addition to playing as a central defender, Vashchuk also sometimes positioned as a sweeper. In total, he scored nine goals in 237 appearances for Dynamo Kyiv.
5. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy
Oleksandr Shovkovskiy deserves to be called as the best Dynamo Kyiv and Ukraine national team goalkeeper of all time. He also holds the record for most number of appearances in the international competitions for Dynamo Kyiv. In addition to being agile and fast, Shovkovskiy was also known as a formidable penalty stopper. In average, he only conceded 0.6 goals in every league game, a very good record for a goalkeeper.
4. Igor Belanov
Playing as an attacking midfielder, Igor Belanov is regarded as one of the biggest football legends in Ukraine. He joined Dynamo Kiev from 1985 to 1989, scoring 39 goals in 121 matches. Together with Oleg Blokhin and Oleksandr Zavarov, Belanov formed one of the strongest midfield combinations in the European League, helping Dynamo Kyiv winning two Soviet league titles and one Cup Winners'. Belanov's best individual achievement was winning the European Footballer of the Year award in 1986.
3. Serhiy Rebrov
With a total of 113 goals that he scored in the period of 11 years, Rebrov is the second top scorer of all time for Dynamo Kyiv. His duet with Andriy Shevchenko in the late 1990s made Dynamo Kyiv become one of the most respected clubs in the Champions League. During his career, Rebrov helped Kyiv win nine league titles and seven Ukrainian Cup trophies. He is also the all-time top scorer of the Ukrainian League, with a total record of 123 goals.
2. Andriy Shevchenko
Shevchenko is indeed the most popular Ukrainian footballer of all time. Before undergoing a period of golden career with AC Milan, he had played for Dynamo Kyiv from 1994 to 1999. After 10 years of playing outside Ukraine, Shevchenko returned to Dynamo Kyiv in 2009 and ended his career at the club in 2012. Throughout his career, he was known as an agile, fast, and effective striker. Shevchenko presented five Ukrainian League titles and three Ukrainian Cups, scoring a total of 136 goals for Dynamo Kyiv.
1. Oleg Blokhin
Oleg Blokhin is a legendary footballer who is regarded as Soviet Union's best footballer of all time. In terms of statistics, Oleg Blokhin is also the best in the history of Dynamo Kyiv. With a record 266 goals in 582 appearances, Blokhin is the player with the highest number of goals and appearances for the club. Throughout the 18 years of playing for the club from 1969 to 1987, Blokhin won eight Soviet league titles, two Winners' Cup trophies and one European Super Cup. Not only that, he also received the European Footballer of the Year award in 1975 and listed himself as the all-time top scorer of the Soviet League.
